During the Tehran street protests on June 20, 2009, Neda Agha Soltan, a young woman was shot by a basiji . She was participating in the protests at Karegar St at the intersection of Khosravi and Salehi. The people of Iran have named the street Neda. This is the first video from inside Iran of a woman being killed in the recent protests. YouTube has posted a video of Neda and her music instructer before she was shot. For days now, I’ve seen them urging less courageous men on. I’ve seen them get beaten and return to the fray. “Why are you sitting there?” one shouted at a couple of men perched on the sidewalk on Saturday. “Get up! Get up!”
