International Human Rights Day Briefing – Exclusive Video Footage of a Recent Public Execution in Iran
New York, NY – In a briefing at UN Plaza Church Centers on Thursday December 7, an exclusive and appalling video footage of a public hanging in June 2006 in Iran under Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be shown. The event, scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., will feature the 17-minute film, which was recently smuggled out of Iran, and other documents concerning the human rights situation in Iran.
In addition, partial list of the names and particulars of thousands of victims of human rights violations and executions in Iran, including teenagers, women and students, would be presented at the briefing.
Tehran has been censured on more than 52 occasions by the relevant bodies of the United Nations for severe human rights abuses. The UN General Assembly is scheduled to take action on a resolution about rights violations in Iran next week.
