Women’s Freedom Forum held a conference on August 12, 2005 at the San Diego Hilton Hotel during the First National Conference of the California Women’s Empowerment Network.
Theme: “Women’s Role in the Realm of Power, Equity and Justice”
CWEN Pledge: “We pledge that we will develop a sisterhood that will empower each one of us to become the ultimate human beings that we deserve to be and help women, men and children whose lives we touch to do the same.”

Ambassador Rosario Gonzalez Manalo is currently the Chairperson of the Committee on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), an international bill of rights of women, United Nations, New York City. She was the former Undersecretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Republic of the Philippines. Ambassador Gonzalez Manalo has held different diplomatic posts for the Republic of the Philippines and the United Nations. She has a Law Degree from the University of the Philippines. She is a career diplomat for many years.
