The panelists from right: Sudanese activists and former Member of Parliament in Sudan, Mrs. Fatima Ibrahim; distinguished Egyptian writer Mrs. Fouzieh Mehran and Mrs. Farideh Naghash; Mr. Sharif Hananeh, an Egyptian writer.Approximately one hundred participants attended the panel discussion titled, “Islamic Fundamentalism and the Status of Women.” In its conclusion, the panel concluded that Arab writers and academics should collaborate with WFF to publish articles on moderate Islam. Additionally, the panel recognized WFF efforts in encouraging the active involvement of women in line with the United Nations Beijing Agenda.
